©’On Your Journey – a Pilgrim’s Guide for all of Life’s Journeys’

Each chapter is based on a line from the original On Your Journey poem that you will find near the bottom of this page. But first, the back story – how it began, and what it means to me…and to you.

Many years ago, I wrote a letter in the wee hours of the morning to a very precious person in my life who was going away under very difficult circumstances. The main content of that letter is entitled On Your Journey.

Interestingly, the words of On Your Journey ministered not only to the person for whom they were intended, but to me also. And, over the years, as I shared the words of On Your Journey with others, they too received the ministering of this Holy Spirit inspired piece that tells of God’s very real, personal and eternal love for each of us.

On Your Journey will minister to people throughout the world

Throughout the years, an ever-present whispering has remained in my head and my heart…that the words of On Your Journey will minister to people throughout the world. Indeed, there were times when I attempted to make it happen; trying to force my timing into His. Obviously, that didn’t work. It never does. Thankfully, that still small voice continually reassures me that it will happen – in His perfect way, and in His perfect time…not mine. Yes, sometimes I am impatient. Thankfully, God has far more patience with us than we have with Him.

I can be stubborn…His refinement is an ongoing process

Today, I carry an ever-growing heart’s desire to do His will; coupled with a deep and blessed assurance that my life’s plan, purpose, mission, and journey are somehow intricately tied to this piece of writing. I have been mentally, emotionally, physically, financially, and spiritually broken down and rebuilt…again and again. Wholly or in part, preparing me through His refining fire for this portion of my life’s journey and mission. I can tell you with certainly, this has been no easy task. As I can be stubborn and often balk at the lessons I need to learn. And, as with all of us, His refinement remains an ongoing process within me today. Just the thought that He would choose to use an imperfect, but willing and moldable servant such as me to do His will is a continual source of humble wonderment and…praise to His glory.

But then…God is no respecter of persons

What He does for one, He will do for another. He desires abundant goodness and a blessed life journey for all of His children – for me…and for you. Therefore, He has planned a very specific, divinely inspired journey for every soul on earth. Sharing On Your Journey with you is part of His divine plan, purpose, and journey’s mission for me.

Seek your journey’s mission

I pray that you will seek your journey’s mission with earnest humility,await you journey’s mission with prayerful patience, and fulfill your journey’s mission with joy-filled obedience and praise.

Your life’s journey is important to God…and me

Whatever the occasion or circumstances in you life at this very moment…I pray you will allow the heart beat of On Your Journey to minister to your needs. Your life’s journey is important to God…and me. I pray these words will encourage you heart, while gently, yet powerfully speak God’s truth in love. May you tenderly receive and experience His nurturing and never-ending love for you…in a very real and personal way.

Travel ‘light’ my dear friend.Take but three companions with you on your journey; the Father, the Son – Jesus Christ…and the most Holy Spirit.

They will fill your heart with joy when you are sad. Empower you with courage when you think you have none. Give you fellowship when you are lonely. Answer the questions of your soul, when you ask…Why me?

Light the path for you when the way is dark. Stand in defense of you when you are slandered. Restore tranquility when all is chaos. Guide you at the forks in the road. Protect you when others would stone you. Feed you when you are hungry. Shelter you from the storm. Quiet your fears when you are doubtful.

Promise eternal life when death is near. Give you peace when men make war. Heal you when you are sick. Stand by you when others leave. Bless you for your good deeds. Stand watch over you while you sleep.

Work miracles when all seems lost. Show you the beauty in everything. Provide you with armies to fight your battles. Bathe you, in the name of the Holy Spirit. Promise a kingdom of Heavenly splendor. Encourage you when you want to give up. Be a sanctuary when one is needed. Carry your cross when the burden gets heavy. Die for you, that you may live.

Give you the words to speak when you have none. Teach you all there is to know, if you but ask. Give you ecstasy beyond the realms and bounds of earth. Understand you without condemnation. Forgive you with divine love. And love you… always and eternally love you.
